How to Join Pack 99

Step 1: Attend a pack event. 

While not required, we encourage all prospective families to check out an event to see what Cub Scouts is all about! See our Activities page for upcoming events. 

Step 2: Register your child with Scouting America. 

You'll complete basic information about your child and create an account to track their advancement in the program. National and Council dues are paid at the time of registration ($85 for National and $80 for Council dues). If cost is a barrier to joining scouting, please reach out to one of our leaders at info@cubscoutpack99.com to discuss payment options and available scholarships.

Step 3: Register with Pack 99. 

Pack dues are paid in November of each year. Dues vary each year and are based on actual program costs and the amount earned by the pack from fundraising the year prior. Pack dues for 2026-27 are $140. 

• Scouts who sell popcorn have 1/3 of their total sales go into an "Individual Scout Account" which can be used to cover dues, pack activity fees, and other scouting related costs.

Step 4: Consider volunteering with the pack! 

Parent and Family Adult Volunteers keep our program running, and we believe that many hands make light work. Adult can help in any capacity and with any amount of time. Here are some ways you can help: 

• Help set up or tear down Pack Night meetings 

• Have a larger vehicle? Help us transport larger items like our Pinewood Derby track between locations 

• Volunteer to help behind the scenes to plan activities, assist with membership and recruitment, or coordinate communications to the Pack

• Work directly with youth to guide and teach in your area of interest (fishing, camping, STEM, bird watching, arts and crafts, etc.) 

*All volunteers must complete Scouting America's Safeguarding Youth Program and all leaders must pass a background check
